Madhuvan is a community for devotees. We keep data collection simple and we don't sell anything about you. Here's the plain version.

What we collect

When you create an account we store your name (or devotional name), email and a hashed password. Your profile — photo, bio, city, teacher and the rest — is whatever you choose to add. We store the posts, comments, likes, accommodation listings and stay requests you create.

How we use it

To run the community: to show your posts and profile to other devotees, to deliver stay requests to hosts, and to keep the network safe. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking.

What's public

Your profile, posts, comments and listings are visible to other people on Madhuvan, and public pages may appear in search engines. Your email and password are never shown to other members. Stay requests go only to the host of that listing.

Temple listings

Some temple entries are compiled from public open data (such as OpenStreetMap) so the map isn't empty. These are clearly marked, and a temple can claim or correct its own page at any time.

Your choices

You can edit or remove your profile details and delete your posts at any time. To close your account or remove your data entirely, email us and we'll take care of it.
